I built in survival mode an enormous pasture to allow my giant herd of cattle and horses to graze safely and in my control. I knew better than to make the fences out of wood, because they would burn down as soon as a thunderstorm occurred. So I made them out of basalt. A few days later, I spot holes in my fence. What? So I go to fix them... Then I start getting more, and more...
It gets worse.
I place 4 high dirt blocks every ten fence blocks to serve as lightning rods... STILL I GET HOLES IN MY FENCE!!!!!
I have witnessed lightning doing this thing, so it isn't some other glitch. Why does lightning destroy stone objects?!?!? And how close do I have to place lightning rods for them to be effective?
Even more confusing: In my statistics screen, the bottom of the screen says I have been struck by lightning some eighteen times. I have only died around twenty five times. I never remember randomly dying, it was always animals that killed me. I've never seen the death-screen say "Cause of death: struck by lightning". Lightning can destroy fence of solid volcanic rock, but a person can go through it unphased? It's not even like I randomly recieved health loss or saw a bright flash when getting struck by lightning. I just... Got struck and paid no need at all. This is so unrealistic!
And forests are absolutely unsustainable. Why have trees if they burn down every other day?
If lightning is going to be this annoying, can it at least happen less often? I mean, we get a thunderstorm in a typical world about two times every three days. Each thunderstorm has probably a dozen touch ground strikes, and that equals out to the grand total of... 168 strikes every three weeks?!?! Where are we, the great Red Spot of Jupiter?!?! The vast majority of lightning strikes in the real world aren't even touch-ground. They are in the sky, striking between clouds. This is what Survivalcraft lightning should be like. Any touch ground lightning needs to be few and far between, if it isn't less annoying.
