This is one of the two newest ODT discussion for feature requests.
In electricty we might want to have-
-smaller electric parts that create the same thing, so if you crafted a real time gate, it would be more small real time gates.
-silver which has one of the lowest electrical resistences possible

How about a microchip? You can put a 3x3 grid of electronics on them, and it only takes up one block. You could make custom gates with it, instead of having to wire large banks of electronics to your creation.

Maybe a converter gate? Like a memory gate, but with only one input and no clock. This would be used for 80% of my memory gate needs.

No, Official Discussion Topic. They are here so that your posts on one subject can be collected into the same place. For example, if Kaalus wants to add an animal, he can just look at the animal ODT.

Elbow wire through block

I find it incredibly annoying when I have to change my wire pathways to open wires because I cannot change direction. If we added an easier pathway to turn wires through blocks, that would be extremely helpful. And yes, this idea was (I think) mentioned by an above post, but it was confusing what TBYCL meant by three way. I would suggest making it similar to an elbow joint in a pipe, but for wires.

Motion blocks

Can we have appliamces (pistons?) that can push outward and shove certain blocks? It would work like a trapdoor does when it has a sand on top of it, only it can have the sand next to it for a closing wall. Adventures in get content would also be enhanced because they could add closing walls or secret passageways like in movies. The pistons would be attached by a wire at the back and be activated like any other appliance.

Im not too sure survivalcraft can support such things as spinning blocks that allow other blocks to be placed on them because this game works in a grid, but that'd be pretty sweet. A few new electrical features i would like to see are: -Magnets- Could attract metal items, help find ores, be used as a new component for electrics, and use them as a new way to open doors like as a key or like mag-locks -Gears- Used to turn other static blocks like a windmill or water wheel or something -Crank- Works side by side with the gears to turn them, maybe attach a rope to it to pull stuff Thats all i got. thanks.

Perhaps a laser? Not a cutting laser or battle laser, just a beam of light. It would travel indefinitely until it hit something. If it hit a photoreceptor, the photoreceptor would register the power in the laser. I would mainly use this for traps and long distance wiring. Also perhaps a radio? The controller would send a signal on a selected frequency at a selected power. All receivers on that frequency would pick up the signal and output it. The controller could be used handheld or attached to something. This would be abundantly useful for adventure and creative maps alike.

Frostbite, you make me sick. Bad place for a comment like that, I reported you.

And Raccoon, I really like your idea about the radio, it might even replay songs if you program it right. The laser though, needs some work. If it traveled indefinitely, it could be used as a path to return home, and a fairly easy one at that. Lasers dont work like that. If it were colored, that might make it worse. There should be an limit to how far it goes, for lasers should be for only computer systems and electric programming.  And christianwaldo, we already have magnets in SC, they connect compass usage

What exactly is wrong with using lasers to find your way home? They would only be visible when touching something, and weak lasers are often used for measurement and surveying. In fact, I would probably use lasers for my city, to make sure the towers are the same height. And a real laser goes in such a direct line that it can be accurately aimed at a six inch wide reflector ON THE MOON! I doubt that any survivalcrafter has explored that far, so it is safe to say that lasers would travel forever.

Thank you Colin

Raccoon, homemade lasers are hard to make, especially by yourself with only materials found in the wild. In Survivalcraft that is how construction goes. That particular laser (which happens to be about 20 miles from my youngest brother's college) took years to complete with some of the best laser technicians. If you could make a laser, it would be fairly weak and dull, not capable of going far. If I were the bossman (which Im not), I would give a maximum of 100 blocks of actual visibility, and that would be about as much as a homemade laser like that could possibly do. Plus it would finish your towers anyhow.

Probably true. And the radio would not play songs, for that you would need a radio receiver and a sound generator, but I have no problem with being able to craft a portable song radio, in fact, you could even attach a clip and wear it for continuous adventure music.

That's what I meant, sorry. The sound generators would be attached to the radio station and whenever you carried the radio receiver (on) in your inventory you could hear the song being played. If you have more than one station, the radio would play whatever is closest.

I guess that might be better. Change the station like we can in real life. I was thinking it would have a similar function as magnets. Compass always points to the closest magnet, received always plays to the closest station. I guess it wouldn't matter too much either way.

Instead of having a bunch of different wire through blocks, how about an all connecting one? Connects to anything a wire does, but in 3D. It should not replace normal wire through blocks, but compliment them.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
Sure, it might not be useful for things other then displays and video games, but I truly believe we need a Variable Color LED that changes colors with respective voltages. This would be immensely useful to me as I would then be able to create a complex video game with navigation.
At least it would be more useful then a Christmas tree :)
