Anyone have any creative ways they've used the diode? Aside from auto nightlights in your home. I've found that it doesn't seem to be used for much, so i decided i would do something with it. Its a rather large but simple circuit, but i found it interesting enough to build. It will take another day or two to finish because its very repetitive work in small spaces. I'm sure it would be easy enough to guess what i'm building

I have the intention to use it in an adventure map where I use the Photodiode and RTC to time the day and have a Soundgenerator play a sound when it's gets night and hunting time for the animals and of the hunting time.
And a different sound for when it is a Werewolf night. :)

You can read more on it here: Timing the world with the RTC and Photodiode.
It's quite extensive though.

Oh.. and another thing.

You also can play around with it by making a row of lamps in a line moving away from the Photodiode.
When turning on lamps individually they each give a different output from the photodiode.
The closest one overrides the distant once.
If I remember correct the maximum distance was 8 then to F as closest, but F had to be placed directly in front of the Photodiode. A lamp next to a Photodiode produces an output of E. (if I remember right. Been a while)
