Tropical rainforest

Generation:
Usually generates close to the beach. But it generating deeper into the terrain isn't impossible. Caves don't generate in this terrain.

Features:
The vegetations (including the dirt and grass) in this biome has a bright lime green vibe. This biome also features streams and ponds of green, murky and not so deep water.

Vegetation:
This biome is mainly made of Brazil Nut Tree. Its usually 30-35 blocks high and can rarely exceed 50 blocks. Nuts in this tree spawns very high up and the shell is very hard therefore not easily accessable and/or consumable. Tropical rainforest is also home to banana tree, coffee, cocoa(ok, no cocoa if too 'minecrafty') and pineapples. Among these banana and pineapple can readily be eaten. Coffee can be brewed with water and then drunk to give a little speed boost(i'm not sure about this). Orchids and poinsettia will spawn frequently as bushes on ground and sometimes on the barks of the nut tree.

Continuation of my previous post. For some reason lefora won't let me edit it.(Wtf lefora, seriously?)

If the rainforest generates close to the beach coconut tree might spawn on sand.

Wildlife:
I've got no idea about this one. I mean, i don't think we've got any animals in this game that fits with the rainforest. Maybe we could go with tigers for now along with rhinos. If kaalus ever considers adding this we may have: jaguars(thus me recommending tigers), sumatran rhinos, capybara, boa constrictor, crocodiles and spider monkeys.

Special notes:
1) The trees would form a canopy through which a very low amount of light would pass creating a eerie atmosphere.
2) For the same reason the floor of the forest would only spawn orchids, pineapples, and poinsettia as they are low light resistant.
3) At places there would be gaps in the canopy causing lights pass, banana, coffee and cocoa would spawn mostly at this places giving it a thick and lush jungle look.
4) Rainfall would occur here very frequently.

Thats about it. What do you think?

Also, it would be nice to have some natural ambient noise for each biome, maybe varying with the time of day (e.g. owls/crickets at night in the forest).

I posted an idea a while back but it disappeared? Basically an option for "realistic" climate generation, where the biome of an area depends on:
- altitude - although 128 metres isnt really high enough to produce much of a change so this would have to be exaggerated
- proximity to a body of water (would require realistic water mechanics)
- wind direction: wind picks up moisture from water bodies, the more humid a wind system is the more it rains; mountains drain wind of humidity so if wind hits a mountain range on one side then land on the opposite side would be dryer, i.e. himalayas & tibetan plateau (would require a lot of things)
- latitude - the world in this mode would have to be finite and probably spherical so i don't know how feasible this is but it would add a lot to exploring and realism
- time of day (night is colder)
- maybe season (requires seasons)

Hey i've also been thinking about ambient noises for awhile. Maybe chirping, occasionally roars and grunts at day on the forest. And as you said crickets and owls at night would be cool. :)

Ambient Noises Sound Great

I love that idea! At night, all I get to hear is the sound of the wolves right outside my door. Maybe the wind in the trees?
