So some people are complaining for the game getting harder. I am actually very happy for that. I love the flu mechanic because it makes you pay attention to your equipment. It makes you gather clothes for preventing it and resting at fireplaces for recovering. I like this a lot. It would be cool though to have some sort of cure for it, like a warm beverage. That would come very handy when while traveling your clothes get wet under the rain and your body temperature drops.
The rotting and sickness are also very intelligent mechanics. You have to be clever in managing and renewing your resources instead of just stocking 40 pieces of meat. This adds a lot to the survival gameplay, and I want to thank the developer for this brave decision. A food conservation mechanic might be interesting as well. I initially thought of a regrigerator block, something like a chest that stops the rotting procedure. But I think it would be way cooler to make the rotting procedure temperature-dependent. What I mean by that is that if the temperature of where the food is located is hot, like in a desert, the food rots faster. If it's cold, like in a snowy biome, it is slower. You might then want a frost chamber in your house, that is a chamber with snow or ice to keep it cool, and store your food there. Or you might want to build a warehouse in a snowy biome. This would be a very entertaining addition, also because it would make snowy biomes useful, and not just a place to avoid.
I love this game so much, I hope the developers will continue on this path by making the survival experience more deep, rich and entertaining in every update.
Let me know what you think!
