It has been well known that everyone wants multiplayer. So much in fact that it is begining to clog up select threads. And since no one seems to accept our answers as to why there is no multiplayer, I give you the words of the maker himself.

"Multiplayer is the most often requested feature, and it also scored the highest in the feature request poll (https://kaalus.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/features-poll). That said, it is also a massive thing with a high risk that would take X months to complete while Survivalcraft stands still. Therefore, before I jump in I must be reasonably sure that low hanging fruit (the easy features that give a lot of bang for the time spent) are addressed first. Bottom line is I can’t give a precise date." ~Kaalus.

This post was found on Kaalus' blog, So now you have your answer.
So I ask that the users would please refrain from posting more multiplayer topics, for we have plenty already. (Im talking to you new users)
Thankyou.

False! I for one don't care whether or not SC ever gets multiplayer. I play games to avoid interacting with other people.

Hello,

LAN multiplayer is technically as challenging as full-fledged multiplayer for Kaalus to implement. Therefore, LAN's pretty likely to come with multiplayer, when it'll come.

Kind regards,

Take your time

Kaalus, take your time with the game, don't be like dice with battlefield 4 and rush to release  features. Im fine with anytime of it coming into the field. Btw my first post and I am looking forward at what this game is to come. -Fighting Falcon™image

I for one would like to second what steph said ages ago. I don't care if multiplayer ever shows up. I don't need somebody else showing up trying to kill me, destroy my house, make me their servant until I break free or water my crops. Those things have ruined enough games.

Former forum member brythok said recently on kaalus' wordpress blog that: as a programmer himself he gets (what I could best describe) "development burn" and he goes on to say that if he was working non-stop for 3+ years on the same game, he will eventually get tired and want to take a break.

So does that mean that kaalus is going through something like this? I'm sure that kaalus has other, more immediate concerns in his life than just Survivalcraft. I don't know what his current circumstances are...but I think it's safe to say that whatever the reason for his long absence, I'm fairly confident that he may eventually return.

By the way, I did manage to partially decompile my .apk file for Survivalcraft. And after some close examination, discovered that SC is written in Java (go figure). I was not able to open up any of the source code files and any other files in said .apk file though...

Ye

I am an android/app developer on my free time. I can confirm after a long time developing anything for long periods of time (especially when the things your working on wont even be implemented yet)can get tiresome even the the edge of boring. Sometimes to the point of me putting said project down.. forever.. Myth Confirmed. xD

More..

Whats more.. is multiplayer/LAN are both the exact same programming.. you have to allow the program to add a web socket and run in said socket while others can join that web socket.. whether or not its online or on your router.. its the exact same programming challange.
