Xandazoris is a rather ambitious project that I embarked on roughly 5 months ago.
For 2 months I was simply placing rock underwater and building it up slowly (insanely slowly). In another thread Scneophyte offered to help me achieve this goal with her invaluable hex editing.
I can't reveal too much about the island, but I can tell you that it will be epic.
The goal of this project is to make something like nkiruka, Barbosa and mystic springs. I plan to put all their strengths in this map, and all their weaknesses in the trash bin.
So far it is going well, and the world is currently 35mb/250 (goal)
This is just a thread we use to discuss xandazoris and all progress is here.
Note: Links are private, you wont find them here. Scneophyte, viper and myself are the only ones who hold the creative link. When it is released all you faithful forum users will get it in cruel :)

Thanks!

Putting bedrock in a chest ? If I get it right, can be done by manually editing the world .xml files. Can do lots of things this way ;)

The spamming was all my fault, sorry!  I look forward to my next task to help you out...I know viperserpent is working on an idea so I'll wait for a while until the direction is clear.

I was thinking 16000x16000 of rock stuff, lol ūüėĀ.
‚Äčsounds pretty hard...

‚Äčif anything,1600*1600 will suffice if its rly advanced stuff.

‚Äčnow, copy and pasting, do you want me to roughly measure out the chunks that hold my island?

‚Äčas for ores: Just a guideline If its possible o.O
Coal blocks - large veins at bedrock level. Coal BLOCK not ore :)
‚Äčdiamond- assorted veins at bedrock
‚Äčcopper - anywhere above diamond
‚Äčsulphur - anywhere above diamond
germanium - granite/basalt boundary.
‚Äčiron - deep area of granite
‚Äčcoal - surface near area of granite
‚Äčthanks for the help. Sorry if some of this is of no use, I haven't even seen the chunks file.

@mrshots making the base might not be that easy...... Or not.....
I dont know whether the chunks data shows only the edited chunks or every block in the game so i dont know. might be able to guess the result if i know that but i dont know anything about programming. Scneophyte knows the best........

Chunks.dat contains only modified chunks so you would have to place a block in each chunk to be modified.  I like to place three blocks of something in one corner of each chunk (each chunk getting a different block) to make them easily identifiable in the chunks.dat file.

I think the easiest thing to do would be for you to terraform one chunk (16x16x128), then identify the chunks you want modified and I will copy / paste into the additional chunks.  Randomizing the ores within the chunk should be too difficult, just time-consuming.

If you haven't identified a chunk before I use the method I learned here:
http://survivalcraft.lefora.com/reply/43548098/MOVEDManipulating-World-Files#reply-43548098

I built a chunk from scratch yesterday and it worked out really well except for some SRlatches that appeared for some unknown reason.  It is really time-consuming though and I wouldn't want to build an enitre world that way!

@viperserpent: I have a laptop for my "real" job.  They also provide me with an iPhone.  PS: not that it matters, but I'm a "she" not a "he"

Sorry, just found out its not alright, I forgot to say it should be +16 for humidity and temp. If its not the greenery will look slightly brown, and the water will discolour when pasted.
sorry to be so picky!
‚Äčbut it'll have to be done again, not to worry, I imagine its not too difficult to do.
‚Äčagain, sorry. That was my fault.

@mrshots: don't worry, the temp/humidity can be modified easily; no need to redo the world.  I'm checking it out now and will make the change.

okay, so this project has led to some interesting, albeit not desirable, results!

I took the world base, adjusted the humidity / temperature as requested then attempted to copy/paste from the xandazoris chunks.dat into the world base chunks.dat.  The first thing I tried resulted in my immediate death and a respawn put me in an infinite ocean with floating cows.

I tried leaving the game while very high up in the world then redoing the copy/paste.  This time the world was inifinite ocean with more floating cows.

I next tried copying / pasting one chunk and it seemed to work (I will PM you the world file).  Since that seemed to work I tried the full copy/paste again but it didn't seem like there was enough there (I will PM you this link too).

My plan moving forward is to copy / paste a few other chunks manually.  If this procedure seems to work then I will proceed....I'm going to be really busy for the next few days.
