SC is written to only use one core. Kaalus probably hasn't worked on multicore support yet since it's not an improvement everyone will benefit from, and unlike most device manufacturers he probably isn't into forcing yearly hardware replacement for minimal performance improvement.
It's kind of like the PC games market... If they write a game requiring a multicore CPU they'll face a class action suit for refunds (and possibly damages) because people don't read hardware requirements anymore and would probably try to load it on their Win98 vintage system.
